My cat Kiki can be rather difficult to handle, and indeed Shirley had a few difficult days with  her. However, in a very short time she had won Kiki over and snuggles and pets became part of their daily routine. Shirley obviously loves cats and it shows. I will never have Kiki stay anywhere else. Additionally, the rooms are large and very comfortable. A five star review is hardly enough.

Bingo, our cat, is very shy and does not trust many people.  He is very comfortable with Shirley, and seems to enjoy his “Cat Tales” visits.  Shirley loves cats and it is evident in the care that Bingo receives. This is the only cat boarding service that we will use.

If you are leaving for a fun adventure, or otherwise, we can’t insist you leave your fur balls in this paradise but please know that your fur balls will thank you with stretches, curls and nuzzles if you do. Both our beautiful Lady Lucille, of before, and our Molly Mae of now, have been grateful for their vacation in this paradise of love, affection and calm beauty.  I never think of Shirley’s place without happiness.

We have been taking out 2 Himalayan cats to Shirley’s for 5 years now, with several stays of 3 – 4 weeks. Without the wonderful care she provides, there is no way we would be able to go on the trips we love in our retirement. They stay together in the large room, and love sitting at the window and watching the birds.  Every comfort is provided, including many choices for playing and sleeping, plus lots of cuddles, petting and brushing.  Shirley keeps us updated with emails and photos and handles any medical issue with great care.  We are so glad to have Shirley in our life!

Shirley was taking care of our little buddy, “Itty Bitty”, for quite awhile.  Unfortunately, we lost her a few months ago due to complications with her health.  She was a sickly little girl when we go her 12 years ago and had to have a special diet and was basically a special needs cat.

Shirley went above and beyond in caring for our little girl and understood her needs as much as we did.  She would email us pictures of her while we were on vacation and there was never a moment that we had to worry about her while she was in Shirley’s care.

My wife and myself will probably adopt another little friend in the future and we are confident in the knowledge that Shirley will be there to administer the proper care.  Having a pet roam free without cages and having access to windows to look outside is paramount to a cats health and well being.  Thank you Shirley for taking care of Itty Bitty.  We know you grieved as much as we did when we lost her.

We found Cat Tales by a Google search for boarding for our cat.  We preferred that he not be caged and that is hard to find.  We found his home away from home with Cat Tales.  After first visiting, seeing and hearing how he would be cared for, we decided Shirley would be the caregiver we would like.  The first time he stayed for 10 days and this last time for almost a month.  Shirley sent me regular emails with pictures to reassure us he was happy and content.  She also told us things about his habits only we would know as his family. He is very content at home now and we will be confident with taking him back if we need to leave him again.

My cats, Jake and Gabe, had the good fortune to stay at Cat Tales for two weeks during Feb. 2017.  Their physical and emotional needs were well attended to.  The environment was large, safe, clean and stimulating.  Jake is a quiet reserved cat and there were places for him to hide, windows to look out, toys to play with and a loving person who talked to him and cuddled him.  Gabe is an outgoing and busy cat.  He had a wonderful time exploring the various spaces, playing, watching the activities from the windows, and being pampered.  Both cats returned home happy.  I know they received more attention from Shirley than they would have from me.

Shirley runs this business in a professional yet friendly way.  I found her to be very ethical in her business practices and her concern and love for the cats in her care is clearly evident.  My cats began their stay during a horrible snowy February.  I could not get the car off my street.  Shirley came and picked the cats up a block from my house. What amazing service!

I highly recommend Cat Tales.  In my opinion, the cats receive better care, more attention, and it’s less expensive than a house sitter.  Without a doubt Cat Tales provides “a home away from home” for your pets.

My cat Nelson who is a 10 year old Ragdoll and very spoiled enjoyed 10 days with Shirley at Cat Tales.  Although he is 10 he still loves to play and Shirley spent time playing with him and getting to know his daily routine.

Shirley has a lovely cage free layout for a cat – several places to sit or lie, a fun cat tree, and a window to look out to the back garden.  The cat area is clean and bright and cozy.

Ragdoll cats often suffer anxiety and distress at new and different environments.  Nelson did not display any anxiety at being with Shirley or when he returned home.

I would highly recommend Cat Tales for a safe, comfortable and loving vacation for your cat – one where you can travel knowing that your cat is receiving the very best care.

We have been taking our cat to Shirley for the past two years for stays of overnight to several weeks care and have complete faith that Buddy is well looked after and that she provides a safe and physically active environment for our cat.  I love that when she knows he is showing up she has the heater turned on in “his room”, the toys, bowls and litter box are out and all we need to bring is his food.  She spends a lot of time playing with him or just keeping him company.  We have complete peace of mind that he is being properly looked after.  Would highly recommend her catsitting services to anyone.

I take Oscar, my Himalayan cat, to Shirley’s regularly.  Oscar is what I call “high maintenance”, he’s extremely needy for attention and has a coat that knots easily, so he needs to be brushed a lot.  I don’t brush him like I should, but Shirley sure does!

I actually take Oscar to her house even when I’m not leaving town, so he can get the incredible attention that Shirley gives him!  He comes back from her house groomed, like I have never groomed him before, so soft with no knots!  He’s not only fluffy and clean but also confident!  Oscar loves to be at Shirley’s so much that when he comes home I see him depressed at times not leaving his cat carrier.  He truly loves his time there!

Shirley is sweet, loving and responsible with the cats she takes into her home.  She is passionate about what she does and it shows through the cats she takes care of.  You are not just taking your cat to a house; you’re taking your cat to a home!  She will treat your cat like her own.  Taking Oscar to Shirley feels like I’m taking him to family.

I’m so glad I found this place to keep my cat while I’m away. Shirley takes real good care of her and gives her lots of love and affection. It’s true that she spoils cats. The last time I came to pick her up she tried to hide!

Attentive to emotional needs. Observant of food preferences. Conscientious about litter box cleanliness. Shirley provides quality care in a comfortable home setting. She plays with the cats, cuddles with the cats, and treats them like they are the centre of attention. You can be sure your cat will receive devoted care at Cat Tales Boarding.

I leave my Samantha with Shirley at Cat Tales every time we go away which is several times a year. She absolutely adores my cat and gives her so much affection. I especially appreciate that Shirley follows my feeding instructions precisely. She is meticulous about cleaning the litter too, several times a day, which is more than I do.

“Her home is a perfect place for a cat. It’s very quiet and has lots of comfy places to sit and windows to look out. I highly recommend getting on Cat Tales’ list and never take your cat to a kennel again. I will never consider leaving my Samantha in a caged environment again!
